Food

Laundry 43

Laundry 43 will be providing a sumptuous menu of locally sourced and grown produce. They have assisted the committee in the sponsorship and donation of food.

The culinary team is headed by Executive Chef Nathan Thomas who has worked with the best in the business. Nathan and his excellent team have created a bespoke menu comprised of locally grown and reared produce. Some of the growers and farmers will be at the Ball so be sure to say hello! You can find a list of food sponsors on the sponsors page.

Laundry 43 opened its doors in May 2012, formerly known as Laundry Café.  The owners of the venue wanted to introduce fine food, indulgent drinks and exceptional service to the town of Busselton in a unique environment. Due to the high demand of their outstanding food and service at the restaurant they now bring that same quality food and service to the Scott River Ball.  The introduction of their custom built mobile kitchen can deliver exceptional food and service to weddings, functions and corporate events. Their philosophy is to provide excellent food of the highest quality to ensure that guests are delivered an exceptional all-round dining experience.

The truck…
The 2015 trailer has been custom built for catering purposes.  The trailer has been fitted with suspension airbags which allow the trailer to be lifted higher off the ground in case of rough or uneven terrain.  Once the trailer is in position at its required destination the airbags are then lowered allowing wait staff to collect food straight from the kitchen without having to enter the truck itself. Two large hydraulically operated side panels open up to allow full view of the kitchen and culinary team at work. For those who have been to the restaurant Laundry 43 the open kitchen theme has been continued as they strongly believe it is important for anyone to be able to view the kitchen and staff. For the mechanical minded; the trailer is built by Aldom Trailers in Adelaide and the truck or Prime Mover is a 550hp Freightliner Argosy.

The culinary team…
